What is the DELE C2 and what is it for?

Who issues the DELE C2?

Structure of the DELE C2 exam

Unlike other DELE levels that separate skills, C2 integrates them into 3 tests:

Test 1: Language use, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension

Duration: 105 minutes. It consists of 6 tasks that combine reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and knowledge of the Spanish linguistic system (grammar, vocabulary, spelling).

Test 2: Listening and reading comprehension, and written expression

Duration: 150 minutes. It includes 3 tasks where you must listen to and read texts to then produce complex written texts based on that information.

Test 3: Reading comprehension and oral expression

Duration: 20 minutes of exam + 30 minutes of preparation. You read texts and then make an oral presentation and a debate with the examiners.

Scoring system

The exam has a maximum score of 100 points. To pass, you need to obtain at least 60% in each test, which equates to a minimum of 20 points per test. Scores are not compensated between tests: if you fail one, you fail the entire exam.

Validity of the diploma

One of the great advantages of the DELE is that it does not expire. Once obtained, the diploma has permanent validity. You do not need to renew it or retake the exam, unlike other language certificates such as TOEFL or IELTS that have limited validity.
