Reading Comprehension DELE C2: Strategies

Reading comprehension in the DELE C2 is present in all three tests of the exam. The texts are dense, with specialized vocabulary and complex syntactic structures. It is not enough to understand the words: you must grasp nuances, infer implicit meanings, and relate information from different sources.

Where does reading comprehension appear?

Types of texts in DELE C2

The exam uses authentic texts from various sources:

Academic and scientific texts

Research articles, philosophical essays, advanced scientific dissemination texts. They usually have specialized terminology and complex argumentation with multiple levels of subordination.

Literary texts

Excerpts from novels, short stories, literary essays, literary criticism. They require sensitivity to figurative language, irony, and stylistic resources.

Opinion journalistic texts

Editorials, opinion columns, articles of political or social analysis. They combine factual information with subjective evaluation and require distinguishing between both.

Specialized texts

Legal, economic, technical documents. They have a very specific lexicon and formal structures typical of each discipline.
